The first five-star sailing ship to carry the Italian flag has just opened its sails for corporate hire. The Signora del Vento is a three-masted sailing ship that is 85m in length, with a sailing surface of 3000mq. Built in Poland in 1962, she sailed for more than 30 years in the North Sea. From the 1990’s the sailing yacht became a training ship in seas all over the world and participated in many yacht meetings.
In 2006, she arrived in the Mediterranean to be completely refurbished to the standard required to obtain Italian registration. The finished result is superb and one that pleases her captain, Captain Coscia, “the Signora del Vento offers a unique experience for people…it’s possible to learn about navigation techniques, rigging, instrumentation and sail handling”.
As anybody who has ever been on board a ship will know, team building is important and the corporate audience is one that the Signora del Vento hopes to attract.
Usually moored in Civitavecchia, she has 28 double rooms to accommodate a maximum of 68 passengers. The 600mq main deck can hold up to 200 guests for a day cruise or a gala dinner.
You can find out more about the ship by visiting www.signoradelvento.com.
The Signora del Vento is available for charter in the Western Mediterranean via Fraser Yachts for 240.000 €/week in summer and 180.000 €/week in winter.
