The first five-star sailing ship to carry the Italian flag has opened its sails for corporate hire. The Signora del Vento is a three-masted sailing ship that is 85m in length, with a sailing surface of 3000mq. Built in Poland in 1962, she sailed for more than 30 years in the North Sea. From the 1990′s the sailing yacht became a training ship in seas all over the world and participated in many yacht meetings.
In 2006, she arrived in the Mediterranean to be completely refurbished to the standard required to obtain Italian registration. The finished result is superb and one that pleases her captain, Captain Emanuele Santi, “the Signora del Vento offers a unique experience for people…it’s possible to learn about navigation techniques, rigging, instrumentation and sail handling”.
As anybody who has ever been on board a ship will know, team building is important and the corporate audience is one that the Signora del Vento hopes to attract.
Usually moored in Civitavecchia, she has 25 double rooms to accommodate a maximum of 54 passengers. The 600mq main deck can hold up to 200 guests for a day cruise or a gala dinner.
